The Tool Crib is a resource in the Fiber department. Students enrolled in the Fiber Department courses can access the tools after signing the agreement.
Please be mindful that equipment availability is subject to current courses running. You can check into the Super Saas to see class reservations on the tools.

Tool Crib Hours
During Fall 2024 Studio Manager hours, Monday through Friday 9-4 pm.
Hours are posted on the Tool Crib Door and the Middendorf Staircase bulletin board and may change per semester according to the Fiber class schedule and staff schedules.
If Tool Crib staff is absent, please find the Fiber Studio Manager on duty.

How Do I Access the Tool Crib?
- You can request permission to access the Tool Crib if you have had prior instruction at the Fiber Department or are a Graduate Student.
- You must sign the Tool Crib Agreement to gain access to the crib.
Important Rules
Sewing machines borrowed from the crib are only available during open hours during the weekdays. They will need to be available for a number of our classes this semester. Students can borrow machines Friday before closing to hold until Monday. Students need to return machines before 9 am Monday.
If you need sewing machines outside these times, we recommend industrial sewing machine training.
