Program Overview

The minor recognizes those students majoring in all areas who have completed a total of 15 credits as prescribed by the Books Arts minor guidelines. Book Arts is an interdisciplinary area of study. It compliments and shares courses from many departments and provides a unique opportunity to broaden and select a course of study within the context of book studies. Students receive acknowledgment on their 澳门金沙投注_任你博-官网 transcript after completing the minor. Students wishing to declare the minor should do so in their sophomore year, working with their 澳门金沙投注_任你博-官网 advisor on planning course selections and follow up with the chair of their department. After graduation, students with a Book Arts minor can continue seeking advanced degrees in library science, conservation, museum studies, and digital publication. A simple grouping of courses fulfills the criteria in the following manner.

The Artist's Book

Every student concentrating in Book Arts will begin by covering the basics - learning simple book structures, the relationship of text and image, knowledge of papers for bookmaking, digital file set-up, letterpress printing and imposition for book publication.
