Are you looking for funding sources to help advance your creative practice, teaching, research, or community engagement?

澳门金沙投注_任你博-官网 offers a variety of funding to Full-time Faculty, Part-time Faculty, Students, and Staff  that can help initiate or complete projects, advance skills towards teaching, and share your research or creative work.

Funds such as the Baltimore Engagement Grant, Community Engagement Grant, and the Y.L. Hoi Award  are  dedicated to initiate or enhance community engagement projects and activities of your own design. Projects can be curricular or co-curricular, but they must engage a community partner or respond to a compelling community opportunity or need. 

Fall 2024 Adjunct Fund Application Deadline is November 1st.

The Adjunct Faculty Professional Development Fund grants funding to support activities and resources that contribute to adjunct faculty members’ professional, creative, or scholarly research and development. The Adjunct Faculty Professional Development Fund was established specifically for adjunct faculty as part of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between 澳门金沙投注_任你博-官网 and SEIU Local 500, August 2015-June 30, 2018. With the ratification of the new 3-year agreement in October 2018, the total amount of this funding was increased from $6,667 to $12,500 per year and the amount that an individual could receive in a single academic year was increased from $600 to $1,000.

The Baltimore Engagement Grant?offers support for faculty to innovate within the curriculum while contributing to the greater knowledge and understanding of the Baltimore community. This funding is to enrich hands-on learning and is intended for opportunities inside credit-bearing courses that provide students with real-world experiences that they would otherwise miss within the confines of the classroom.

The Research Initiation Grants and Cultural Expansion Grants are on hold at this time.

The Stanley Rosen Faculty Development Endowment in 1998 with a gift from Madalyn Rosen through the Rosen-Gold Family Philanthropic Fund in memory of Madalyn's husband, Stanley Rosen.

This grant of $500 is awarded annually to a deserving faculty member who is identified by the Grants Committee from their review of the spring applications for the Brenner Grants for Faculty Development & Research.

Fall 2024 Y.L. Hoi Memorial Award Application Deadline is November 1st.

The Y.L. Hoi Memorial Award supports students as creative agents of change in Baltimore City. Students developing projects that use art and design practice and thinking to create a new paradigm for racial and/or ethnic understanding, equity, and inclusion may apply. Proposed projects should:

  • Promote racial and/or ethnic understanding, equity, and/or inclusion;
  • Incorporate art and design practice and thinking;
  • Be designed and implemented in partnership with Baltimore community organizations or groups serving Baltimore neighborhoods and;
  • Leverage the strengths of 澳门金沙投注_任你博-官网 (e.g., other students, programs, initiatives, alumni, network, etc.)

Awarded projects should be a catalyst for Baltimore City communities - raising awareness, empowering individuals, and fostering positive change. Undergraduate and graduate students of all artistic approaches, mediums, and disciplines are welcome to apply.

Applicants may apply for up to $5,000 in funding for such expenses as materials, supplies, entrance fees, and transportation that are integral to the development or implementation of qualifying projects. Grantees may apply for funding to compensate commissioned artists or guest speakers participating in projects.

About Y. L. Hoi

As a successful self-made businessman in the Chinese furniture, arts and crafts trade, Y.L. Hoi worked to connect quality products to an international consumer base. Through his keen business sense and ingenuity, combined with an openness to new partnerships and international expansion, Y.L. Hoi developed a highly successful business that endured over five decades.

For his family, his vision extended beyond his home in mainland China and Hong Kong, to provide his descendants with opportunities to develop and learn beyond their country of origin. At the same time, he firmly believed that civic and educational engagement began at home. Recognizing that education and philanthropy are the cornerstones of community Hoi and his wife decided to bequeath most of his estate to universities and charities in Hong Kong. Y.L. Hoi embodied the principles of inclusion and access to opportunity for all, regardless of race, class, or creed.
