Kevin Griffin Moreno is the Special Assistant to the President

As special assistant to the president, Kevin manages 澳门金沙投注_任你博-官网’s relationships with select external partners and oversees a portfolio of strategic initiatives, including the re-envisioning of the Office of Research and the launch of the Center for Creative Impact. He also serves as the liaison between the senior leadership team and the Board of Trustees.

A social sector leader with over 20 years of experience in nonprofit management, philanthropy, public policy, board development, and program design, Kevin joined 澳门金沙投注_任你博-官网 in 2018 as director of strategic projects. In that role, he cultivated and managed reciprocally beneficial relationships between 澳门金沙投注_任你博-官网 and corporate, government, and community-based partners. As a member of the community partnerships and strategic planning teams, he worked collaboratively to develop policies and procedures designed to improve effectiveness and accountability within the college.

Prior to 澳门金沙投注_任你博-官网, Kevin was a program officer at the Baltimore Community Foundation, where he managed community-impact strategies and directed grant funding to nonprofit organizations working in human services, community development, and the arts. Before that, he was a refugee resettlement officer with the International Rescue Committee; and a policy advocate with the Job Opportunities Task Force, where he concentrated on issues that included workforce development, adult education, and economic opportunities for Marylanders returning to their communities from incarceration.

A graduate of University of Maryland Baltimore County, Kevin holds a Bachelor of Arts in History, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Leadership of Nonprofit Organizations from Notre Dame of Maryland University. Since 2018, he has served on the executive committee of CASA, a national immigration advocacy organization. Previously, he served on the boards of Maryland Philanthropy Network, Maryland Association of Community Foundations, and the Baltimore Rock Opera Society. In 2023, he was named a Justice Leadership Fellow by the Institute for Islamic, Christian, and Jewish Studies.

Kevin has a deep fondness for and commitment to Baltimore’s arts-and-culture ecosystem. He has provided local theater companies, dance ensembles, music collectives, and other arts organizations with pro bono consultation on topics such as governance, strategic planning, and resource development. As an arts practitioner, Kevin has performed at Wolf Trap and Baltimore’s Center Stage; led workshops for UMBC and Strathmore; and organized storytelling events for Public Allies and Maryland Philanthropy Network, among others.

A proud resident of Baltimore for over three decades, Kevin lives in Hampden with his partner and a pit bull named Joshu. Kevin consistently finds inspiration and joy in listening to peoples’ stories about work, community, faith, creative practices, and the places they call home.
