As 澳门金沙投注_任你博-官网 continues to work remotely, staff and faculty may need to adjust their home internet setups to fulfill their teaching and working responsibilities.
Setup tips:
- Use a wired connection to your internet and do not solely rely on WiFi. Wired connections can be stronger and more stable.
- Do some testing to see where your internet works the best and how your work setup can maximize where your internet is the strongest.
- Be in close proximity to your router.
- Make sure you are restarting your computer every few days to ensure that updates are applied.
- Minimize the number of applications you are running or windows that are open if you are concerned about your internet strength during a meeting or class.
- When you are in a meeting or class, keep multitasking to a minimum.
- If you have to use Wi-Fi, stay closer to your Internet router or in the same room as the Internet router and choose the 5GHz channel for your Wi-Fi. The 5GHz band is good for higher performance or speed. The 5GHz channel does not penetrate walls very well and its performance reduces the more walls it has to cross to get to your computer. That is why, you have to be in the same room as the wireless router for better performance.
- The 2.4GHz band is best at penetrating walls and it has a better range but poor performance. Do not use the 2.4GHz for classes. Your Internet connection will experience lags and freezes.
