The Fiber Department Studio, facilities, equipment and tools allow for students to explore sewing, dyeing, silkscreening, weaving, felting, spinning, digital embroidery and more.

As a departmental studio, priority is given to students currently enrolled in Fiber courses. The specialized tools and equipment of the Fiber Department Studio provide unique capabilities and require specific training and scheduling. 

While these resources are best learned through coursework, we recognize their value to all students who want to explore such techniques. Students who are not currently enrolled in a Fiber course but are interested in learning a technique or equipment should follow these steps:

1. Submit Request Form
2. Attend relevant equipment trainings and workshops that are offered in September-October and February-March. If you are interested in a training, please email Fiber Chair, Christina Day to join our weekly digest containing this information.
